Ok. So I got an idea: instead of focusing on those feelings of confusion, anxiety, isolation, anger, or whatever we may be experiencing right now, let’s try to see this global pandemic with a bit more optimism and focus, instead, on the things we will do once it is all over. After all, these feelings are temporary and are just a reflection of what is going on around us. Right? They are external and they too shall pass.

But are they really external? Let's look at these feelings from a different perspective. The pandemic, sure, It will be over, sooner or later. But those feelings and emotions it undercovered won’t just vanish. When the tide goes out, you discover who's been swimming naked, someone once said. And the pandemic is like the tide receding: it uncovers our nakedness. The anxiety you might be feeling may not be the result of some external factor. Neither are the feelings of inadequacy or isolation. Sure, all the events currently happening around us tend to amplify those negative feelings but the fact that they are (or were) there to begin with, is what might need attention.

So let’s not wait until this global phenomenon passes by and let’s take this time as an opportunity to really look inside. For me, the magic word is acceptance. Do not try to fight all those negative emotions, simply recognize they are there. They might have gotten a bit more intense lately. That’s fine. Be patient and don't give up. Take this time as a chance to work on yourself.

Maybe you can find a strategy that will help you get by: you can try meditation, yoga, exercising, eating healthy, and being grateful. With time, you’ll discover what works best for you. Even though we can’t know what the future has in store for us, we have the power to shed a light on whatever comes our way. Let’s close our eyes and shed some light on ourselves now. Go find that power within. So whenever this is over, we’ll be sane and ready to go out to a new reality.
